Free “No Soliciting” Decals for West Chester Residents

West Chester township is now offering free window decals to residents who would like to discourage door-to-door solicitors.

The township’s Board of Trustees recently approved a resolution which limits the times for door-to-door sales to between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., May through September; and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., October through April. Vendors are still required to register with the West Chester Police Department prior to canvassing neighborhoods; and the resolution does not prohibit youth fundraisers or other non-profit organizations.

The resolution prohibits solicitation at any residence where a “no solicitation” sign, decal, or other lawful display is exhibited.   Individual homes must be designated “no solicitation” in order for the West Chester Police Department to take action.  Vendors found in violation of Resolution 19-2017 will be guilty of a minor misdemeanor. Residents with “no solicitation” signs visible at their doorways who receive contact from a transient vendor at their door, may report the vendor to West Chester Police at 513-777-2231.
West Chester residents are welcome to display their own signs or may obtain, at no cost, a window cling provided by the township. These clings are available at the West Chester Township Hall, the West Chester Police Department, West Chester Community Development, Midpointe Library West Chester and The West Chester Activity Center during regular business hours.
