Butler County Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off, Tire & Freon Recycling

Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off is available to Butler County, Ohio residents just two more days this year, Thursday Oct. 20, 2016 and next Thursday Oct. 27, 2016 from 2 pm – 7 pm. Please use this program to manage your unwanted automotive fluids, fluorescent bulbs, oil-based paints, mineral spirits, mercury containing devices, such as fluorescent bulbs and fluorescent tubes. Do not bring latex paint.  Drop off items at 175 Westheimer Drive in Monroe off SR 63. Call 513- 887-3653 for additional details and directions.

Waste Tire Amnesty Day will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 9 am – 1 pm at Ross High School, Hamilton-Cleves Rd., Hamilton, OH. Limit of 10 tires per participant – residential quantities ONLY, NO EXCEPTIONS. Passenger car, truck and tractor tires will be accepted.

Finally, Butler County residents can schedule pick up of working/non-working Freon appliances. Call Unwanted Appliances at 1-888-886-9268. This “on-demand” service will be offered through the end of October 2016.  Freon is removed by certified technicians and appliances are recycled.  Accepted items: Refrigerators, Freezers, Dehumidifiers and Air-Conditioning units.  Appliance MUST be placed in driveway or at curb on morning of scheduled pick up. Keep in mind, Duke Energy customers can contact 1-855-398-6200 for removal of working Freon units.  Duke customers quality for a rebate for removal of Freon appliances.
